Orem Drug Rehab Treatment Styles & Approaches
|
Orem Drug Rehab has an immense desire to help their clients reach their personal goals and ultimate sobriety that lasts a lifetime. We are able to accomplish this through many different treatment modalities and implementations. Some of the more popular methods we use are:
(AA) Alcoholics Anonymous & the 12-steps: We use the fellowship to help our clients find recovery through experience, strength and hope. Anger management: It has been proven that anger is addictive and releases dopamine. That is why we provide lessons to help our clients learn to become aware of symptoms and to equally control them. Christian based: Some of our affiliate programs directly utilize God into their treatment regimen on a daily basis. Case management: We help our clients with access to resources in regards to gainful employment and other ongoing basic skills needed. Codependency: We help our clients and families alike to address their enabling behaviors in a safe and non confrontational manner. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): This is a methodology of challenging the dysfunctional or irrational thoughts and replacing them with healthier behaviors so the client can independently develop new and healthier thoughts on their own volition. Daily living & hygiene skills: Beyond learning life saving coping skills. We help our clients learn how to function independently in society. |
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT): This is a process we use that has been shown to be highly effective with those that suffer from Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) as well as other issues such as substance abuse and obsessive compulsive issues. The main premiss behind this method is to help the client learn mindfulness though relaxation and meditation and self-talk.
Evidenced based: Through a strict regimen of research protocols, a scholarly peer group decides if the research conducted is scientific and reproducible in a number of different situations with a high enough success rate correlation.
Experiential therapy: This is a method where the client's specific and individual needs are met that no evidenced based research can help due to each client being different and needing to explore their inner selves through random activity.
Faith based: This treatment style is meant for those who desire to (re) connect with God and use His healing power as a part of their everyday treatment curriculum. More often than not, this can be incorporated into the 12-Step as well as our LDS programs.
Family therapy: This is a weekly occurrence where the immediate family members of the client attend to learn and grow through both psycho-education as well as therapeutic sessions dealing with topics like co-dependency and boundaries.
Individual treatment: Depending on the private needs of the client, this can be a daily or weekly occurrence to help the client gain further self esteem and awareness through intimate self-disclosure through ongoing one-on-one individual sessions.
Latter-Day Saint (LDS) based: Method to enhance your LDS faith by incorporating it into your drug and alcohol treatment setting. We provide gospel centered solutions that help the client understand Christ in a manner they are accustomed to.
Motivational interviewing (MI): This is a highly effective evidenced based method where the client's ambivalence is addressed through the client's own self-change talk. This is primarily done through asking evocative questions and rolling with resistance.
Psycho-educational groups: Beyond therapeutic benefit, this is a methodology that involves educational based workbook curriculum and daily life lessons to help improve the overall quality of the client's life. Therapists do not have to conduct these types of groups, however when they do it becomes an amazing hybrid of combining a therapeutic process with coping skills.
Recreational therapy: This treatment method incorporates the great outdoors as a way to help the client engage in healthy self exploration as well as to learn how to enjoy life again; drug and alcohol free either alone or with friends and family.
Shame based model: This is an intensive psycho-educational as well as therapeutic exploration of the different roles played within the family which keeps the family dysfunctional and generationally passing shame based behaviors down the line.
Therapeutic community group (TC): This is an effective way to utilize the group setting separate from therapists and staff to help one another learn and grow through discussion and working on assignments as well as holding self and others accountable.
